Think Pink for Spring is This Weekend!

The pink jewelry has been rolling in and we can't wait to show it to you! I hope that you'll join us, along with the other retailers at Excelsior & Grand, for a great weekend of fun and giving. At Max's a portion of our sales proceeds from Friday and Saturday will be donated to Susan G. Komen for A Cure. In addition, here's what else will be going on during the weekend:

➢ At the designer boutique OPM, you'll receive 20% off each new purchase for each gently used clothing item exchange. OPM will donate your old items to Hope Chest for Breast Cancer.

➢ A one-hour float at ReJoov Me has the same benefits as four hours of deep sleep! For the Think Pink weekend, plan ahead and get Mom (or you!) a special Mother's Day package, which includes a one-hour relaxation massage and a one-hour float for only $95. Plus, with each ReJoov Me gift card you purchase you'll get a free gift. ReJoov Me will donate a percentage of the weekend's sales to Susan G. Komen for a Cure.

➢ To help raise awareness for breast cancer, Laredo's is serving fruity pink margaritas. And McCoy's is pouring pretty pink cosmos - you know Carrie Bradshaw would be there!

➢ Looking for fun and flirty accessories to wear though spring and summer? Bring your gently used clothing to Shorty's Loft and get 20% off your first regular priced purchase and 10% off additional purchases. Shorty's will donate all clothing to the Epilepsy Foundation.

➢ Just in time for summer sandal weather, bring in a pair of your gently used shoes to Shu Global Footwear. They'll donate them to Soles 4 Souls and you'll receive $10 off a new pair. You'll look fabulous and your karma will be through the roof.

Willy Wonka, Eat Your Heart Out!

While Willy Wonka may have had the chocolate river, we now have a chocolate wall at Max's! It's still a work in process as we wait for some of our stands to come in, but here's a glimpse of the before and after so you can get a feel for where we're headed with it. Of course, this represents only a small sampling of all of the chocolates we have at Max's....there's a lot more to behold! I'll post a new image as soon as we're all finished....I like to think of our chocolate wall as a collage!

Happy Earth Day!

Today is the day we're supposed to be celebrating Mother Earth, right? Why isn't it that we celebrate her every day given all that she has given to us throughout the years? It's in that spirit that we'd like to ask that you help us in our effort to green it up a bit by providing us with your email address. We can then keep you apprised of all of our wonderful trunk shows and events that way rather than by hard copy mail. By all means, if you would prefer to keep receiving our postcards about these events that's fine and we'll continue to send them to you. If you'd like to give us your email, please call us at 952-922-8364 or send us an email at info@stylebymax.com. Thanks!

Think Pink for Spring!

While it's true that it seemed more like spring last week and it feels somewhat like back to winter today, we're ready to welcome spring in a big way at Max's! Join us next weekend on Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2 for "Think Pink for Spring" as we turn the store pink with beautiful new items in rose gold and a wide assortment of (different shades of) pink stones! A portion of our sales proceeds from the weekend will be donated to Susan G. Komen for A Cure. Mother's Day is the following weekend, so this will be a great time to do your shopping and, in the process, make a contribution to a wonderful organization doing such important work. In addition, many of the others retailers and restaurants here at Excelsior & Grand will be participating as well, with their own promotions and donation commitments. Check out more details on Facebook at The Shops at Excelsior & Grand.

We'll be posting images of some of the pretty-pretties that are making their way in especially for this event over the next several days....how's this one for starters? Aaron Henry made this diamond and pink sapphire ring for us especially for this event. Now, don't you think mom would love this one?

It' Time For Our First Event of 2009!

We couldn't be happier to launch our series of 2009 events with a trunk show featuring the work of jewelry artist Dahlia Kanner! You, our wonderful customers, have made Dahlia one of our most popular jewelry artists and she will be in the store this coming Thursday, April 16, from 11am - 8pm with lots and lots of new things. Dahlia has a special penchant for rings, but being a bit of a bracelet freak, it's her bangles that I can't get enough of. Whatever it is, we love how versatile her work is in terms of transitioning easily from daytime to nighttime, as well as the texturing that she does on the metal that is her signature statement. We hope you'll come and see for yourself...remember, it's this coming Thursday, April 16.

Have You Tried This Yet?

Who said matzah is only for Passover anyway? You won't think so once you try Matzel Toff, an absolutely delicious, can't stop eating it, I want some more treat! It's a piece of matzah, covered with toffee and chocolate (either milk or dark) and sprinkled with sea salt. Since we began carrying it last fall it's become a huge hit and since Passover is this week, we currently have some of the Kosher-for-Passover variety in the store. The creator, Phillip Guttmann, is originally from St. Louis Park and will be talking about his delicious creation tomorrow on Martha Stewart's show!
